Derek Duleba is a highly acclaimed Jazz Guitarist and Educator, recognized for his exceptional talent and captivating performances. He has made a significant impact on the New York jazz scene and continues to inspire audiences worldwide.
Derek has performed at some of the most prestigious venues and festivals in the world, including the International Jazz Festival Bern, Chicago Jazz Festival, Chicago Symphony Center, Dizzy's Club (at Jazz at Lincoln Center),
Jay Pritzker Pavilion, The Green Mill, and The Jazz Showcase, among others. He has shared the stage with numerous jazz luminaries, including Jeremy Kahn, Dan Trudell, George Fludas, Chris Foreman, Art Davis, Russ Phillips, Eric Schneider, and Andy Schumm.
Derek's unwavering commitment to excellence has earned him a highly coveted spot in Juilliard's Artist Diploma program, which he began attending in the Fall of 2023 in New York City. This exclusive 2-year performance-based program is designed for highly gifted and experienced performers at the post-graduate level who seek to further hone their artistry and professionalism. Derek's enrollment in this program is a testament to his exceptional skills and knowledge. At Juilliard, Derek has been taught and mentored by some of the greatest living jazz musicians, including Wynton Marsalis, Kenny Washington, Ed Cherry, Dan Block, and Ben Wolfe. Derek's credentials also include a Master of Music in Jazz Studies from Northern Illinois University, where he received training from virtuoso guitarists Fareed Haque and Bobby Broom.
